Armands Zvirbulis

Armands Zvirbulis is an experienced TV director and editor who has two National Film Awards "Lielais Kristaps" (Best Feature "The Desolate Nest" (co-directed)) and Best Editor ("The Island of John Doredo") as well as two national TV awards under his belt. With proficiency ranging from top rated weekly live discussion show "What's Happening in Latvia?" to 2nd unit directing of the largest and top grossing production since independence "Defenders of Riga", Armands Zvirbulis staked a claim to direct a family adventure feature LITTLE ROBBERS (2009).

The film became one of the most successful Latvian films ever on the international scene. It took part in 60 film festivals around the world gathering on the way 20 different awards, diplomas and nominations. Beside the home territory it was released theatrically in Germany, Russia and Austria. TV rights have been sold to all major European countries and other territories, including Japan, South Korea and Latin America.

Armands Zvirbulis is the editor of LONELY ISLAND (2012) and THEN IT’S HI!HI! HEE! (2014) and the director of the upcoming family feature film CHRISTMAS TREE MYSTERY.
